    • One from a school administrator/principal
    • One from a colleague
    • One of your choice
  3. Unofficial transcripts from undergraduate and graduate institutions. To assist in our review, please highlight math and math ed courses.
  4. Three typed essays—see the writing prompts in the Application Form.
  5. You may be asked to participate in a brief phone interview as part of the application process.

Notes:

Have You Previously Applied to the Math TLC?

If you are re-applying to the Math TLC Master’s program, your unofficial transcripts are still on record with project staff, so you may omit Step 3 of Stage 1. If you have any questions about the application process, please email us at mathtlc@unco.edu.

Stage 2:  Accept Invitation to Participate

Accepting an invitation to join the Math TLC includes a letter of commitment from both you and your principal (if applicable).  You will be asked to submit the Participant Letter of Commitment detailing the expectations for participation and to have your principal sign an Principal / Administrator Letter of Commitment detailing expectations of adminstrative support.

Acceptance Timeline

The target date for notification of Master's program applicants is Dec. 16th, 2011. If you decide to join the Math TLC, your letters of commitment must be received by January, 2012

Note: You should be taking action on Stage 2 and Stage 3 simultaneously.

Stage 3:  Apply for Admission to the Graduate School

Note: The university to which you choose to apply will not impact the cost of the program. You will take courses from both UNC and UW and will be paying tuition to the university offering each course.

To apply for admission to the Graduate School, you'll need to:

  • Fill out an application for admission to the graduate school for the university of your choice.
  • Pay the $50 application fee to the Graduate School..
  • Provide official transcripts to the Graduate School, (not necessary if you sent official transcripts in your application to the Math TCL in Stage 1).

Graduate School Application Deadline

Complete your application to the UNC or UW graduate school by January, 2012
