Note on Application Review: Review of applications to the 2010 cohort of the TLP is on-going. Applicants can expect review times of approximately 1-3 weeks.

Stage 2:  Observation and Interviews

Once you have passed the Stage 1 application process, a member of the TLP application team will contact you to arrange an on-site observation of your teaching or, if you are currently in a teacher leadership position, an observation of you conducting a leadership activity, such as coaching or professional development.

On the day we observe you, we will also conduct a post-observation interview. Depending upon your schedule and the observation activity, observations will last between 1.5 and 3 hours. The post-observation interview will take about one hour.

In addition to the on-site observation and post-observation interview, we will schedule a half-hour phone interview with you. You will interview with two members of the TLP application team. You will be provided with some interview questions in advance of the interview.

Stage 3:  Letters of Commitment

Upon successful completion of Stage 2, you will be invited to join the TLP. To finalize this invitation, you and your district supervisor will be asked to submit (forthcoming) letters of committment.  Your district supervisor is your principal if you are teaching full-time and your immediate supervisor if you are already serving primarily as a teacher leader.

Expectations of Teacher Leaders and their District Supervisors.

TLP teacher leaders are expected to fully participate in the courses offered and engage in ongoing implementation of the leadership skills they are learning. This will include engagement in internship opportunities negotiated with Math TLC staff and their supervisor.

The supervisor of a TLP teacher leader is expected to support their teacher leader. This includes providing time and appropriate opportunities for the teacher leader to practice their growing teacher leadership skills.
